Request for expressions of interest for a Design Consultant for the SMART Corridor Project for the Road Transport and Safety Agency
The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Transport Corridors for Economic Resilience (TRACER) Project (Project ID P180801, IDA Grant No. E2930 ZM). The Consulting Services under reference ZM-RTSA-444824-CS-QCBS comprise the design of the SMART Corridor System for the Lusaka-Nakonde section of the Dar es Salaam Corridor, covering four pillars – Corridor Monitoring, Traffic Management, Trade Facilitation and Road Safety – and preparation of the associated tender documentation, over an assignment duration of twelve (12) calendar months.
RTSA, on behalf of GRZ, now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest, with supporting documents demonstrating required qualifications and experience. Shortlisting criteria include a minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in planning, design or implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems, Corridor Modernisation or comparable multi-agency technology programmes, with at least three assignments of similar nature and complexity completed within the last seven years; experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is an added advantage but not mandatory. A firm, Joint Venture Member or Sub-Consultant participating in the selection of the Technical Advisor for the SMART Corridor Project (Reference No. ZM-RTSA-564876-CS-QCBS) shall not participate in this selection, to preserve independence between the two roles. A Consultant will be selected under the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method.
