Request for proposal for the provision of external audit services for the Football Association of Zambia
Founded in 1929, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is the governing body of football in Zambia, affiliated to FIFA, and a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and COSAFA. FAZ runs the game commercially through the Premier League and National Division One while advancing football development through National Teams, Provincial Leagues, Women’s Football, Futsal, Beach Soccer, Youth Football and Grassroots Football. In accordance with the FAZ Constitution and FIFA requirements, the Executive Committee intends to engage an independent external auditor for a three-year running contract, with the first audit covering the financial year ending 31 December 2026, to provide an independent opinion on FAZ’s financial statements and assess relevant internal control systems.
The audit shall be conducted per International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and applicable Zambian law, covering compliance, truth and fairness of accounts, adequacy of accounting records, and consistency of related information, with particular attention to fraud/corruption risk, laws and regulations, governance communication, and audit risk response. The audit team must include an Audit Partner (Chartered Accountant, ZICA Fellow, valid Partner Audit Practising Certificate, 10+ years’ experience), an Audit Manager (ZICA member, 5+ years including managerial experience), and an Audit Supervisor (ZICA member, 3+ years’ experience), with detailed CVs demonstrating relevant audit assignments and roles.
Audit firms must submit a complete technical and financial proposal (one original, four copies, each clearly marked), pay a non-refundable ZMW 1,000.00 tender participation fee, provide a valid ZRA Tax Clearance Certificate for 2026 and ZICA Practising Certificate for the audit period, and supply references from at least three comparable audit clients. Proposals marked “PROPOSAL FOR THE PROVISION OF EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES” must be submitted by 14 September 2026 at 17:00 hours to the General Secretary, FAZ, Football House, Alick Nkhata Road, Longacres, Lusaka, or electronically to procurement@faz.co.zm.
