Tender for the proposed Kamusongolwa Shopping Mall

The Workers’ Compensation has made a provision towards the cost of construction of a shopping mall in Kasempa, Zambia, and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract. The scope of works includes construction of the shopping mall, access road, carparks, fencing, stormwater drainage, water supply pipework, storage tanks and pumping equipment, internal water supply, sanitaryware, waste and soil drainage systems, power supply and reticulation, internal electrical installation, HVAC installation, fire and safety installations, and furniture and fittings as necessary; certain services and specialist works will be subcontracted to Nominated Subcontractors.

The Workers’ Compensation now invites bids from contractors registered in Zambia with the National Council for Construction (NCC) in Grade 1, Category B (Buildings). Bidding will be conducted using Open National Bidding (ONB) procedures specified in the Public Procurement Act of 2020 and the Public Procurement Regulations of 2022. Prospective bidders should access the bidding documents via the ZPPA e-GP System (http://eprocure.zppa.org.zm) and ensure they are registered with ZPPA to participate. Prospective bidders are invited to attend a mandatory site visit meeting on 18 September 2026 at Plot No. ZLN_8982/1, Kasempa District, from 09:00 to 11:00 hours.

Interested bidders may access the bid document upon payment of a non-refundable fee of K2,000.00 through the online payment system on the e-GP platform or offline into the ZPPA account. Bids must be submitted as instructed on the ZPPA e-GP Portal on or before Friday, 2 October 2026 at 14:00 hours, and must be accompanied by a bid security of at least 2% of the bid sum, in the form of a bank-certified cheque, bank guarantee, bid bond from an insurance firm, or an irrevocable letter of credit from a reputable bank. Hard copies shall not be accepted; bids will be opened online 30 minutes after tender closing at 14:00 hours.
